I bought this about a week ago, and it's worked extremely well right out of the box. In fact, it already had a charge, so I programmed a few destinations in the comfort my home, quickly installed it in my car, and I was off and running. Comments: it is accurate, voice prompts work very well, and it's very intuitive.
You can charge it at home if you have a PC and a "mini USB" to "regular USB" cable. Just plug it in, and it'll give you a "need to install the proper Magellan software" message while it charges from your PC.
Great product for the money.

i bought this GPS after my last onw was stolen from my car :(. after i bought it i installed it in my car in the same place my last one was, and i've loved it since. and it's cheaper then the first one i bought. i aslo used it while driving from indianapolis, indiana to san antonio, tx and it never got me lost or gave me the wrong directions.

Magellan RoadMate 1412 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator A great unit. Easy to use for what I wanted. Doesn't have phone hookup or picture view which I don't need. Easy to understand directions.

We bought this for my Mother-In-Law for Christmas. She has a really hard time understanding all electronics that she needs to use and we weren't sure she would be able to use this. She has already used it many times and loves it! She figured out how to use it in about 5 minutes. She said it is great and loves all the features on it.

I think this GPS is great. No problems with sound, the screen is easy to read, prompts are user friendly, so many points of interest, easy to use. I am so glad that I continued to read reviews when I originally decided to get a GPS. Sometimes it is hard to decide because the reviews vary to such a degree. But this one is great and the price is right.
