Seriously, I think this is the best garmin nuvi product for the buck. What I really appreciate about this model over the previous Garmin model I had (it was a newer version than this one) are these:
1) Preview of upcoming turn on upper left hand corner
2) Speed limit sign display
3) Gives the phone number to the POIs.
4) Cheap
5) Lifetime map update.

I bought this product for 4th of July weekend as I was visiting a friend 3 hours away. I love it. It redirects in less than 5 seconds although you'll never miss a turn with it because it gives you adequate warning at least two times before the turn (unlike my boyfriend's TomTom). The sound quality is excellent and it even says the name of your favorites (IE .2 miles to "Amy's house" on the left). And the lifetime maps are WELL worth it as Garmin charges $90 for that alone. This DOES come with it, even is marked on the packaging so Garmin did authorize this. It is small but I have no problem seeing the map or writting. It could use a QWERTY keyboard but because of the small size, I understand why it is not possible. PLENTY of point of interests to find. I could go on and on but I have to go to work. Oh yeah, it uses a mini-B (NOT MICRO- the teeny tiny one) adaptor to connect to computer (not included). Look it up online if you're not sure what it looks like. However, look around and see if you already have one. Could have come with camera, external harddrive, cell phone, or whatever. It seems to be becoming standard issue so that's probably why Garmin doesn't include one. I did so that saves you money right there. But if you don't, I suggest ordering it at the same time as this so you can update your maps and features ASAP.

After reading other reviews, we were convinced that this would be the best option for us. Never have owned or purchased a GPS. We knew we didn't want/need the most expensive model nor did we want the least expensive one either. Shortly after purchasing the GPS we took a family vacation to a place in Oklahoma we had never traveled to. The GPS took us right to our destination. We were very pleased with the accuracy and how the device is fully capable of getting you to your destination even if you take a wrong turn. I'm sure the more expensive models that have more features are nice, however we are very satisfied with this purchase.

Given the standalone price of a lifetime map update card, this package is a steal. It reads the street names, as advertised, but the text-to-speach voice is not quite as gentle and pleasant as the normal voices. The only thing that makes this unit less than perfect is that the keyboard layout, due to the narrow screen, is in alphabetical instead of QWERTY layout. But I suppose they needed to keep the onscreen keys large enough for the average or fat finger-tips :)
