| Customer Reviews: works great with jailbroken ipod touch 3g May 16, 2010 S. Cole (OH USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got this so I could use it with roqybt for the ipod touch and it works perfectly. takes about a minute to find a signal sometimes but other than that I have no problems with this device. I love how this device turns off automatically once it is no longer connected to my ipod, i don't have to worry or remember about turning it off when I leave my car and I have to start the gps program backup on my ipod when I get back to the car so turning this device back on is just a small step to starting the gps program. and its not like theres a lot to do when you turn this thing on, you hit the one button on the device to turn it on then I click one button on my ipod and bam its connected and the gps program is searching for a signal which it finds very quickly compared to my TomTom One gps which usually takes 5 or more minutes to find even one satalite and thats on clear days with a clear view of the sky.
if you have a jailbroken ipod touch 3g and don't want to buy the expensive gps kits from apple this device and rogybt will be a perfect and cheaper alternative. I do recommend you find a good car mount kit for your ipod though because the gps on it is only helpful if the ipod is not laying on the floor of your car from where it slid off your dash or out of the ashtray. :)
Works, but not worth the money May 1, 2009 Chris Hann (Alameda, CA United States) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Once you have powered this on it works well enough. When it loses bluetooth connection to whatever it is talking to it shuts off. When the client comes back this unit has to be manually powered on again. It is also very expensive for an older tech receiver. Look for a modern SIRF III, or better, receiver that stays on so long as it is powered.
